RISE IN BRIGG CRIME REVEALED


There has been a sizeable rise in Brigg crime, latest figures released through www.police.uk reveal.
There were 55 crimes of various types  during March 2018, compared with 31 in February.

  • Anti-social behaviour 7
  • Bicycle theft 0
  • Burglary 11
  • Criminal damage and arson 4
  • Drugs 1
  • Other crime    1
  • Other theft    3
  • Possession of weapons 0
  • Public order 7
  • Robbery 0
  • Shoplifting 3
  • Theft from the person 0
  • Vehicle crime 1
  • Violence and sexual offences 17
Seventeen of the March crimes took place in/near the town centre and there were five others on the Springbank estate.
It should be noted that the www.police.uk figures show crimes within a one-mile radius of the town centre. This takes in some areas of neighbouring parishes.
During March, four of the 'Brigg crimes' took place in Scawby Brook, while five others were on the Water's Edge estate which is within Broughton parish.

The March 2018 crime total (55) was exactly the same number as experienced in March 2017. There were 48 crimes during March 2016.
