BARNETBY FOOTBALLERS BEATEN BY LAST-GASP GOAL

Barnetby United's first team footballers are still waiting to discover whether they will escape finishing bottom of division one in the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League.
The Railwaymen are hoping that championship-chasing Shape Changers do not lose to Sherpa - currently at the foot of the table - in an important match for both sides tomorrow night (Tuesday, May 8).
Barnetby have played all their games and are a point above Sherpa, but Barnetby have a far superior goal difference. So Sherpa must win their final fixture to climb above Barnetby.
Epworth Town having resigned from division one with their record expunged, the league is only looking to relegate one team, rather than two.
Going up from division two will be Crosby Juniors (champions) and our own Briggensians (runners-up).
Barnetby Reserves finished mid-table in division two
MATCH REPORT & PICTURES FROM BARNETBY UNITED'S FINAL GAME COURTESY OF LEE FIELDEN (PLAYED THURSDAY, MAY 3)

BARNETBY 1, SCOTTER UNITED 2

A pulsating game culminated in a dramatic final 12 minutes as Scotter sealed the 3 points with the last kick of the match.
The game was closely fought from the start  and both sides had opportunities in the first half but there were no clear cut chances.
The match continued in a similar vein until a defensive mix up allowed Scotter in to take the lead with 12 minutes left.
With 3 minutes left a reshuffle saw the outstanding Bradley send a cross to the far post that Kieran Hunsley met with a header to score his 3rd goal for the Railwaymen.
Pushing for a winning goal in injury time Barnetby were caught on the break and conceded a penalty, which was duly dispatched with the last kick of the season.

NF ADDS: Barnetby were wearing their familiar black and white strip.
