IT'S FOLK NIGHT IN BRIGG

The latest Scanlon's Folk Night is being held in Brigg tonight (Wednesday, January 10th), starting at 8.30pm.
Older Brigg Blog followers may well have guessed from the event's name that it's being held at the Nelthorpe Arms, on Bridge Street.
That's because Myles and Mary Scanlon were very long-serving mine hosts at this town centre hostelry.
Indeed, a good many people still call the pub Scanlon's.
People are invited to go along tonight to sing, play or just listen.
No admission charge applies - it's free to attend.

Music was a big part of the Scanlon era at the pub, with the renowned jukebox playing popular tunes, many with Irish connections, eg by the Pogues and the Dubliners.
