£12K BRIGG AREA FUND-RAISING HELPS LINDSEY LODGE HOSPICE 'SPONSOR A PATIENT ROOM'

FROM DAVID CARRICK

After a year of fund-raising in the village of Hibaldstow, a magnificent £12,000 has been raised for The Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe 'Sponsor a Patient' initiative.
This programme will see some of the Hospice's older patient rooms undergo a total refurbishment, and throughout 2017 the village set about raising money for the project.
A wide variety of events were held including Cookery demonstrations, Breakfast mornings, Concerts,  An Afternoon Tea Party, Freestyle Dance, Summer Barbeque and a Coffee morning together with the many sponsored bikes that were seen throughout the village in the period leading up to the Tour of Britain passing through Hibaldstow in September.

In addition, there were very generous donations from local businesses, organisations and residents, the result being that a twin patient room at Lindsey Lodge Hospice will be totally refurbished together with a single room which was completed earlier in the year.
A huge thank you to everyone who has played any part in achieving this remarkable amount.
