SUPPORT FOR BRIGG SCHOOL 'EXPANSION'

A Brigg school's plans to develop a new site in the town has gained support.
Demeter House is seeking planning permission for 39 Wrawby Street to be used as a "non-residential institution."
It intends to provide a dedicated therapeutic space as "more students are in need of this intervention."
While currently utilising spaces within the existing school grounds and buildings "it is generally recognised that it is better to have a dedicated space for therapeutic intervention to have a higher success rate."
It anticipates a maximum of six staff members and 4-6 students using 39 Wrawby Street, pictured below.
Consulted about the application, Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee, meeting in the Angel Suite Lounge, decided to give its support.
Committee chairman Coun Mike Storey said this was an "expansion" by Demeter House to provide a dedicated site for theraputic intervention.
A final decision on whether to grant permission will be taken by North Lincolnshire Council, as the planning authority.
Demeter House School currently operates on Bigby Street - in the former Preparatory School premises, pictured above, and also on West Street, Scawby.
