FIRST CHRISTMAS PARTY OF 2017 IN BRIGG

Brigg Blog has received its first Christmas party invitation of 2017 - five weeks ahead of December 25.
On Saturday, December 9, from 8.30pm, current and former players will be attending Brigg Hockey Club's festive get-together.

The party venue is the Nelthorpe Arms Barn, behind the Bridge Street pub/restaurant.
Attractions will include a live band, hot sandwiches, mince pies, mulled wine and Christmas themed games.
They will also be drawing the annual hockey club Christmas raffle - a major fundraiser.
Tickets for the Christmas party cost £8 in advance or you can pay £10 admission on the door on the night.
They are on sale from today, Saturday (November 18).
The invitation we received came in an email to hockey club Goldies (golden oldies?).
We presumably qualify after 20 seasons on the field.
A Goldies' get-together is being talked about in conjunction with the party.
Among players from our era still turning out today is Andrew Markham.
The long-serving goalkeeper tells us that Brigg Men's Veterans will be in action tomorrow (Sunday) on the 'Blue Astro' at the Recreation Ground.
The game is against Sheffield University Bankers, starting at 2pm.
Spectators are very welcome.
