SUNDAY SPORTIVE FOLLOWS THE ROUTE OF MAJOR OVO ENERGY TOUR OF BRITAIN CYCLE RACE THROUGH BRIGG

A few days after the OVO Energy Tour of Britain brought top professional racing cyclists to Brigg and surrounding villages, amateur riders followed in their slipstream at the weekend.
We spied these riders on the A18 in Brigg yesterday (Sunday, September 10).
The North Lincolnshire Tour of Britain Sportive gave local people the chance to get the ‘real tour experience’ and ride part of the route the professional cyclists had followed on Tuesday, September 5 during Stage Three of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
This probably explains why the route-indicating green bikes have remained in place on the roadside (see picture above) and were not removed soon after the OVO Tour.
