HOW BRIGG PERFORMED IN THE EAST MIDLANDS IN BLOOM COMPETITION

With planters, tubs and hanging baskets spread across the town centre to add a touch of colour, Brigg entered the prestigious East Midlands in Bloom competition.
We reported some weeks ago that the judges had been to town and that the results would be announced in September.
The East Midlands in Bloom Awards Presentation was held recently at St Botolph’s Church - better known as Boston Stump.
There was a big entry from six counties.
Brigg was in the Small Town section, sponsored by Amethyst Horticulture.
Our town  didn't finish in the top places but did receive a Certificate of Achievement.
In addition, there was a  judges' award for Brigg Women’s Institute's "Angel bed."
Further details about Brigg's performance in the competition may well be forthcoming at the Town Council's September meeting next week.
