ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF OUR BRIGG BASH GROUP HAS DIED

Brigg Blog was very sad to be informed that Graham Austin has died.
He was a founder member of Brigg Amateur Social Historians and took pictures of guest speakers at many meetings over the years.
Graham's funeral will be on Tuesday, May 30th at  9.20 at Scunthorpe Crematorium.
BASH's Josie Webb told Brigg Blog: "Graham was a lovely guy and a good friend. He worked very hard on the BASH Committee and we all loved his great sense of humour."
We agree 100 per cent with Josie's tribute, having been a BASH official in its early days.
We shared many a pint and a joke with the ever-entertaining Graham at the White Horse pub.
Things were never dull when Graham was in earshot.
Cameras in hand, we toured Pingley Camp - the former prisoner of war camp on the outskirts of Brigg - to photograph the huts prior to demolition.
He also enjoyed - and contributed to - the success of  BASH ghost walks.
He had interesting memories of the old Riverside House,  fronting the Old River Ancholme and behind the White Hart pub and had many memories of Brigg decades ago.

Very sad to hear,Nige, thought I hadn't seen him about Brigg for some time.
He used to live in the now demolished Riverside House as a youngster.
