NEW STORE IN BRIGG AREA WINS APPROVAL

A well-known company in the Brigg area has been given permission to expand.
North Lincolnshire Council has approved a planning application from Bennett Potatoes, of Station Road, Sturton, to construct an additional 3,200 tonne potato store at the existing potato grading facility.
A report sent to the council in support of the application explained: "The Company supplies many of the large supermarket groups with potatoes and it is important these are delivered to the customers in perfect condition.
"It is now necessary to have a further potato holding store on site to ensure that grading for customers is not disrupted and can continue smoothly irrespective of weather conditions or the harvesting conditions."
About 60 people - mostly full-time - are currently employed.
