In February, Brigg Town Council allocated money for it to be installed within the town centre - ahead of this weekend's Brigg Live Arts Festival.
Brigg Blog spotted a North Lincolnshire Council vehicle and team putting up the bunting a few days earlier.
We happened to mention that a nearby street light had been "on" day and night for months.
Next morning, as we walked into the Market Place, there was a pleasant surprise - the light was "off".
