THOUGHT 4 TODAY...The Lancaster.....an example of a successful learning curve from a failure.
The Lanc evolved from the unsuccessful Avro Manchester....and instead of giving up, Avro were inspired to improve the weaknesses and failures of the Manchester to create an icon of WW2.
An excellent example of learning by one's mistakes....one should be comparatively more motivated from failures than resting on laurels of strengths....

BASH always attracts a strong crowd and and talk on Lancs increases the attendances enormously....
BUT last night's talk was a disappointment
The presenter didn't use his mic and mumbled a lot making the folks strain to hear what was, or being thought of what he was saying.
The talk was disjointed and abruptly finished.
Similarly, the talk's title bore little relationship to what was presented...it was another talk about the Dambusters, 10 ton bomb and difficult to hear vague comments.
Many of those who attended left unimpressed....but the buffet was excellent, as usual.
