BRIGG FAILS TO WIN A PLAICE IN AWARDS BUT THE QUALITY IS THERE

Better luck next year for fish and chip businesses in Brigg.
The National Fish & Chip Awards finalists for 2017 have been announced and it's a case of the one that got away for our fash food fisheries.
Whatever the judges think in this high-profile and popular competition, Brigg Blog thinks our town  offers some real quality when it comes to one of each.
Eat in or take away at Scalinis and the Hungry Fisherman in the town centre, or visit The Garden chippie on Grammar School Road.
Our other fish and chip takeaway - Den's, on Glebe Road - is currently closed and on the market, awaiting a new owner.
We enjoyed an excellent and reasonably priced fish and chip special in the restaurant at the Hungry Fisherman, down Coney Court, yesterday before boarding the tea-time Hornsby No 4 bus for Scunthorpe and a visit to a couple of watering holes before a Cary Lane Taxi ride back to Brigg.
