COLD WEATHER SAFETY WARNING TO BRIGG FOLK

With ice making footpaths and roads slippery today, Brigg drivers and pedestrians need to take extra care when they venture out this bank holiday.
That's not just a warning from us; similar postings have appeared on social media from the authorities.
You don't want to start the New Year with a trip to hospital A & E (accident and emergency) or a car shunt which the police need to attend.
Our picture - taken by Ken Harrison - shows one of the distinctive signs posted along the A15, between Barnetby Top and the Humber Bridge, advising drivers when the temperature drops to freezing point.
The signs were introduced a few years ago when Brigg & Wolds Ward representative Coun Nigel Sherwood was the cabinet member at North Lincolnshire Council with responsibility for highway matters.
Coldest job in the Brigg area today?
We'll nominate the hardy staff at the hand car-wash near Brigg Monument.
Brrr!
