SET FAIR FOR BIG BRIGG CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

Brigg Town Council, which provided the Christmas lights in the town centre, is hoping for a really big turn-out of people for the switch-on tonight (Friday, December 2).
So are members of the Brigg Town Business Partnership, who run our shops, many of which will be staying open late tonight so folk can do their Christmas shopping.
Brigg Town Council says: "From 4.45pm it's time to get into the Christmas Spirit and the big light switch-on is at 5pm. "We will have the lovely John Marshall from Lincs FM on stage with us,  and the cast members from Aladdin at Grimsby Auditorium.
"Come along and enjoy the atmosphere and free parking from 4pm (but do put a ticket in your car first!)."
The centre-piece Christmas tree is already in place in the Market Place, near the Buttercross, complete with hanging baubles on some of the lower branches, we note.
Brigg Blog has checked the weather forecast and there's only a small chance of rain, although it will be cloudy.
However, it won't be as cold as late, which is a definite bonus!
There will be a wide range of eateries open tonight, as well as shops selling goods of all kinds.
Brigg District Lions will be staging their ever-popular Christmas Fair.
There will be stalls in the Market Place, along Wrawby Street and in the Angel.
So be sure to take plenty of cash with you!

Our picture showing last year's event was taken by Ken Harrison, of Brigg.
