BRIGG PUB & RESTAURANT APPLICATION DISCUSSED

An application seeking permission to retain a kitchen extraction system at a Brigg hostelry which serves meals has met with no objections from Brigg Town Council - the first stage in the planning process.
The application relates to the former Black Bull Inn at 3 Wrawby Street - now converted into Dexters Alehouse & Kitchen, the town centre's newest pub/restaurant.
Coun Mike Storey, chairman of Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee, told a meeting held in the Angel Suite that he would be pleased to see this issue resolved.
Coun Brian Parker added that he could see no problem with the application.
North Lincolnshire Council will now decide whether to grant permission.
A conservation officer at the unitary authority has  raised no objections, telling planning colleagues: "Whilst the extraction system is visible, it is not in a conspicuous position and does not stand out overtly to an extent that negatively impacts on the character and appearance of the conservation area.
"It can be justified in this instance to ensure the business use of the property and the amenity of the nearby properties."
