THRILLING FOOTBALL WIN IN EXTRA TIME SECURED DURING 'CRAZIEST 10 MINUTES'

LINCOLNSHIRE JUNIOR CUP ROUND 3 MATCH REPORT BY LEE FIELDEN

BARNETBY UNITED FC 5 LOUTH TOWN 3 (AFTER EXTRA TIME)

Following back-to-back 3-0 home defeats, Barnetby put in a performance to match any in the club's 80-year history and claim a place in the last 16 of the county cup.
It was Louth Town, from the Lincs league, that drew first blood as they converted a stonewall penalty to take the league.
This  stung Barnetby into action and Josh Isaac had them level at the interval.
Resuming after the break, Isaac and Will Forrest had golden opportunities to give Barnetby the lead but fluffed their lines.
Inevitably, Louth went 2-1 up, only for Barnetby to respond immediately to draw level again through Cameron Hill.
The score remainded 2-2 until the 2nd period of extra time when Louth took the lead for a 3rd time.
Then ensued the craziest 10 minutes.
Not only did Barnetby draw level through Cameron Hill after a sumptuous ball into the Louth box by Greaves, but straight from the restart pressure from Hill put Isaac away down the left to square for Hill to complete his hat-trick and put Barnetby 4-3 up.
To cap a remarkable performance, George Merrick met Dan Greaves' cross to make the score 5-3 and put Barnetby into the last 16.
Brigg Blog's thanks go to Lee, our former Brigg Town cricketing colleague and ex-Sir John Nelthorpe School student, for the Barnetby match report.
