QUEEN'S THANKS EXTENDED TO BRIGG

No members of the public attended Brigg Town Council's September meeting in the Angel Suite, which was a shame as some interesting items were discussed, although the meeting was not a lengthy one
Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley (above) chaired the session in the Angel Suite, leaving the chamber for a short time while the council considered an item in which she had "declared an interest".

That gave Deputy Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall (above) the opportunity to take the reigns before Coun Eardley returned to complete the remainder of the 19-item agenda.

  • A letter sent on behalf of The Queen was received and shown to members. It thanked the Town Council for sending 90th birthday wishes to Her Majesty.
  • Brigg Town Council has received an invitation to a dedication service for the refurbishment of St John's Church Hall, on Bigby Street, the council having funded a new cooker for this community facility. This will take place on October 22 at 12.30pm.
  • Couns Mike Storey and Brian Parker (pictured below) were delegated to represent the Town Council on the  Grantscape Advisory Group which will assess applications for a fund associated with the local Renewable Energy Plant.
