BRIGG FOOTBALLERS HIT THE GOAL TRAIL

Here are some football pictures taken on Saturday, October 8 at Sir John Nelthorpe School, Brigg.
Briggensians FC - wearing the blue shirts - hosted Scotter United Reserves and were 2-1 up when we left midway through the first half.
Things got even better for the local lads following our departure and they went on to secure a handsome 6 – 1 win.
On the mark were Stuart Briscoe, Paul Neal, Sol Hari, Mike Farmery, Ross Belton and Jon Taylor.
We particularly enjoyed the second goal, scored by Paul Neal. The big defender ventured forward from the back, in Franz Beckenbauer style, and struck a firm, low shot into the bottom corner.
This win in division three of the TSW Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League boosted Briggensians' push for promotion.
They are second in the table behind Barnetby United Reserves, having won three and drawn one of their four league games to date.
This Saturday (October 15) Briggensians will host Barnetby in the second round of the Johnstone Insurance Nursing Cup.
Kick-off at Sir John Nelthorpe School will be 2.30pm, with much local rivalry at stake.
