ANCHOLME HEAD 2016 TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND IN BRIGG

A major annual event on the River Ancholme in Brigg will take place this coming weekend.
Ancholme Rowing Club, based on Manley Gardens off Bridge Street and one of the town's oldest sporting organisations, will be hosting its Ancholme Head event on Sunday, October 9, 2016. The races will be at 11am and 2.30pm.
The Ancholme Head will bring scores of visitors to Brigg from all other the north and midlands, as well as competitors from the host club and other parts of North Lincolnshire.
We'll be interested to see how many local businesses open to take advantage of this influx of hungry and thirsty people with their potential spending power!

Both these pictures were taken at the Ancholme Head 2015. If you want to watch the racing you'll have to head off down the towpath towards Castlethorpe and Broughton. However, from the County Bridge you can watch the competitors setting off and returning to the clubhouse. Many of the boats are stored on trailers in Bridge Street and carried down Manley Gardens to Ancholme Rowing Club's HQ.
