SATURDAY NIGHT FIVER IN BRIGG

Saturday Night Fever is a song which reflects the mood in Brigg pubs on Saturday night, September 25.
There was a karaoke at the White Hart, on Bridge Street, and disco music at the Dying Gladiator, on Bigby Street.
Late on, The Glad was heaving with people. They were queuing three deep at the bar at one point.
There was also a Brigg wedding "evening do" in the Angel Suite.
Those wanting a pint and a chat found the Yarborough Hunt and the Britannia to their liking.
There were many more people out and about in Brigg pubs than you'd expect to see on a  Saturday night in late September.
Regulars were joined by some folk you don't normally see in town centre hostelries at weekends.
While out and about, we received our first "new" £5 note - after paying for a pint. The new fivers are supposed to be  harder wearing than the old, familiar versions. But the one we were handed had a chunk missing from one of the edges.
A few weeks ago we reported sitting in the Yarborough Hunt on a Saturday evening, looking out of one of the front windows and seeing a top-of-the-range Lamborghini sports car parked near the China Royal Restaurant.
Last week, in Scunthorpe, we reckon we spotted the same vehicle - a white one.
You don't see many of those in the steel town, never mind Brigg!
