Coun Rob Waltham, from Brigg, Deputy Leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “A key council priority is to invest in young people to ensure they have a great start in life and continue this journey. We are also investing and encouraging investment in Scunthorpe Town Centre to attract more people into the town, encourage business growth and jobs.
“The Positive Steps Activity Day is set to be Scunthorpe’s biggest event and we want young people, their families and friends to help make it a success. There are lots of things happening on the day to suit all tastes and ages.
“We are giving away a Kindle Fire, there’s free parking all day and if you are aged 19 and under, you can take advantage of the special discounted offer of just £1 each way to use the new Call Connect bus, which takes you into the bus station, right next to where the event is.
“The council is inviting people to take photos on day using #thisisnorthlincs and #activityday – the council will post a selection of the best photos on Instagram and Facebook. So there are lots of reasons to get yourself there. The event will round off the school summer holidays perfectly. It will be a fun, eventful day, and we hope you can join us.”
