BUSINESSES IN BRIGG AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY

The new Millennium dawned at 00.00 hours on January 1, 2000 and we well remember touring Brigg pubs a few hours earlier, taking pictures of people saying farewell to the 20th century and welcoming the new one.

As a purist, Nige....the Millennium actually started just after midnight on 1st January, 2001.....the year 2000 would give 999 years in a millennium...!!!

For those who can't get their heads around the above...try this..
You have a 100 boxes...number them 1 to 100.
Put them in batches of 10 keeping them in number order.
The first batch would be the boxes numbered 1 to 10...so the 2nd batch would be the boxes numbered what?
Transfer this notion to Centuries and Millenniums....remembering no year (like the boxes) was numbered '0'.
(also remembering that a year starts on 1st Jan and is complete only after 31 Dec)..
