Brigg Town Cricket Club enjoyed another emphatic win in the fourth division of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League yesterday (Saturday, July 23) and stay on course for promotion.
Brigg won by six wickets at Old Lincolnians 2nds, bowling out the 10-man city side for only 39.
The wickets were claimed by Jack Richards (three for two, Phil Dewfall (three for six), Nick Beacock (two for 14) and Danny Minshall (one for 13).
Brigg also found run-scoring difficult, losing four wickets before securing the maximum 20 points on offer.
No-one managed double-figures with the bat for Brigg. "Mr Extras" unusually top scored with 13!
The game did not take very long to complete - Old Lincolnians were dismissed in 19 overs, while Brigg's took 13 overs.
Innings in Lincolnshire League fourth division games are scheduled for a maximum of 45 overs.
Next Saturday (July 30) Brigg have a home game against Keelby 2nds (1.30pm start).
With Brigg Rec being refurbished, the match is to be played at Brocklesby Park.
So Brigg players will have further to travel for their home fixture than the away team!
