EUROPEAN UNION REFERENDUM: REMEMBER TO CAST YOUR VOTE IN BRIGG TODAY

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

North Lincolnshire Council is ready to count the votes for the EU referendum.
One hundred and sixteen polling stations across our area will be open from 7am to 10pm today (23 June 2016) for North Lincolnshire’s 123,597 registered voters to have their say.
Over 20,000 postal votes have already been returned.
Once the polls close at 10pm, all the ballot boxes will be brought to The Pods leisure centre on Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, where 80 counters will be ready to begin the process of verifying and counting the ballot papers.
The count declaration for North Lincolnshire is expected between 4am and 5am on Friday.
Simon Driver, Chief Executive and counting officer at North Lincolnshire Council (PICTURED), said: “Our 266 polling station staff are gearing up, ready to staff the polls from 7am to 10pm tomorrow before the mammoth task of verifying and counting the ballots begins at The Pods. The counters will be working through the night and we expect the declaration for North Lincolnshire in the early hours of Friday morning.
“It is important that people use their democratic right and vote. This is your chance to have your say and make a difference by voting for what you believe. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say.”
