RAISING A GLASS TO BRIGG LINE PASSENGER BOOST

There was a boost for Brigg railway line passenger numbers yesterday when a sizeable group of townsfolk used the Saturdays-only service to journey to Cleethorpes, where we expect they took in a few of the resort's watering holes!
We spotted them in Queen Street as they walked into to the town centre after arriving back on an early evening train.
Some Brigg pubs were then in line to enjoy their custom!
The Brigg Line Group (campaiging on behalf of our local service) tells Brigg Blog that Stagecoach has kindly printed two large  timetable posters for its 450 bus route that will be displayed in the waiting shelters at Brigg station.
A recent customer survey on the Brigg Line showed people DO  use the buses to and from Brigg to connect with the Saturday-only passenger train service.
This reminds us of a Monday night, some years ago, when we went to Brigg station to check how things were and saw a passenger  on the far platform waiting for a train to take him to westwards, his home being in South Yorkshire. We  explained he would have to wait five days, due to trains only running on Saturday. We ended up offering a lift as the first part of his journey home.
