HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW FOR BRIGG PUBLICAN

BY KEN HARRISON

Mine host of the White Hart pub in Brigg had a hairy experience recently.
Barring aliens, Kev Whiteman's encounter, nevertheless, was so dramatic to the extent that he lost his hair. Kev's fellow mine-host, Carrie Francis needed to get to the root of the Kev's close call.
She was nearby as Kev, in high spirits and certainly not bitter, or nuts, ambled from the beer pumps, sat on a bar stool where his locks dropped in clumps, pooling on the floor.
Carrie took the cue and buzzed around Kev patting his increasingly balding scalp.  She was razor sharp in the later stages as Kev threw-in the towel, still grinning, but looking paler in parts.
Was it a case of sudden alopecia?
No - in reality, Kev had volunteered to have his head shaved to raise money for Brigg's Pancreatic Cancer Action Group.
The local group is organised by Andrew (Sass) Markham and Zoe Hall.
