FANTASTIC MARKET ATTRACTING HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TO BRIGG

Brigg planning and market consent applications go to our Town Council for consideration as the first stage in a process which ends with North Lincolnshire Council, the unitary authority, making decisions on whether to give the go-ahead.
At Monday night's meeting of Brigg Town Council the following went through the process without any official objections.
  • Planning application PA/2016/552: Planning permission to erect a single storey rear extension at 19 St. Helen’s Road, Brigg.
  • Planning application PA/2016/559:  Planning permission to erect a two storey extension at Yew Tree Cottage, Albert Street, Brigg.
  • Application for 55 or more stalls from Michael Johnson (Brigg Lions) in respect of the Brigg Lions Christmas Market on Friday, December 2. The question of litter arising from the market was mentioned during the meeting. However, Town Mayor Coun James Truepenny (pictured above) replied that the Lions encourged stallholders to tidy up. He said of the market: "It's a fantastic event and brings hundreds of people into the town."

..so to summarise, Nige..there could be a story about a house in St Helens Road; the yew tree in Albert St is expected to grow....and hundreds of people will feed the 55 lion stalls, some with litters, in December..
