DAY TWO OF BRIGG BEER FESTIVAL

Don't forget that today (Friday) sees the second day of Brigg District Lions' Beer Festival.
It's being staged at the Barns behind the Nelthorpe Arms, off Bridge Street (close to the County Bridge).
Opening hours tonight are 7pm to 11.30pm, while tomorrow (Saturday 14th May) they will be serving a range of real ales and ciders from noon to 11.30pm.
As ever there's a souvenir glass on sale, this time in honour of the Queen's 90th Birthday.
Entry is £2, glasses £1.50 and beer £1.80 per half pint.
Saturday night will see entertainment from Suburban Blues.
Good weather always helps to swell the attendance at this long-established annual event, and as we make this posting (early Friday morning) there's blue sky and sun.
The Lions do a great deal to support worthwhile causes, and the money made from the festival - staffed by members of the organisation - is put to very good use.

Our picture shows solicitor Steve Baggott - long serving Brigg hockey player and umpire - raising a glass at a previous Brigg Beer Festival.
