BRIGG FERRY SERVICE TO OPERATE DURING ANCHOLME RIVER FESTIVAL

Brigg Blog was very interested to see that a ferry is to operate during the Ancholme River Festival next Saturday (May 28).
The Ancholme River Trust says people will be able to use it to get to Glanford Boat Club "on the Island" and join in the club's Fun Day, with dodgems, a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and "runaway train."
A leaflet has been produced to publicise the Ancholme River Festival, which includes a map. "Ferry to the Boat Club" is indicated on the towpath, near to the Ancholme Way bridge.
The River Festival is a FREE event and, as ever on Saturdays, FREE parking will be on offer, courtesy of North Lincolnshire Council.
Visitors will be able to try rowing at Ancholme Rowing Club, on Manley Gardens, off Bridge Street; with canoes and kayaks at Ancholme Leisure Centre, off Scawby Road, Scawby Brook. Cycling and angling will also be available in/near the town centre.
The festival will run from "10am onwards."
Read more here about the boat club's fun day.
The boat club is based on Island Carr - entry being via Bridge Street and the Island Carr Industrial Estate road, unless you prefer to take the ferry, of course!
The organisers of the Ancholme River Festival say there will be "fun for all the family" next Saturday.
Our picture - taken by Ken Harrison - shows a water polo match staged near the County Bridge during a rpevious festival.
