BRIGG RACE FANS ALL SET FOR MARKET RASEN MEETING


For the benefit of those folk in the Brigg area interested in a day at the races, or in placing bets with one of our local bookies, here's the latest from the Market Rasen course:
There's a meeting coming up on Tuesday, February 9.
Racehorse ownership will be much to the fore when the Racehorse Owners Association, which awarded Market Rasen Racecourse its prestigious ‘gold standard’ award last year, holds a regional meeting for its members. 
The association will also support a jackpot race, offering a £2,000 bonus if won by a horse belonging to one of its members.
Admission is from £7.20 in advance for adults; accompanied under 18s enter free of charge.  The first race is at 2pm.  Find out more at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk
The new Clerk of the Course at Market Rasen, Jack Pryor (pictured), takes charge of his first racing fixture on Tuesday.
The Clerk of the Course is responsible for turf management and preparation for a race meeting, race programming, monitoring the going and ensuring that the track is in tip-top condition for our sport.
Jack, who takes over at the Lincolnshire track from Jane Hedley, was previously Group Racing Executive and Analyst at the head office of Jockey Club Racecourses in London.
