HIGH-RANKING POLICEMAN VISITS BRIGG STATION

Humberside's Assistant Chief Constable, Lee Freeman, revealed on Twitter that he had spent a busy and very positive day with the PVP team in Brigg.
We looked this up and PVP stands for Protecting Vulnerable People.
The primary role of our police station in Barnard Avenue has changed in recent months.
You may well have seen conversion work going on in the car parking area behind the entry gates.
There is also a current planning application seeking approval to provide additional car parking on land off Cary Lane. This is now being considered by North Lincolnshire planners
You see more people going into, and leaving, Brigg police station now than perhaps at any time since it opened in the late 1970s.
We once had a Brigg & Barton Sub-Division of Humberside Police, headed by a Chief Inspector, with Inspectors and Sergeants based at stations in both towns, as well as many Constables.
This is now but a memory. Policing has changed.
