BRIGG AMATEUR FOOTBALLERS KICK-START THEIR SEASON

Briggensians FC (blue shirts) playing New Holland a couple of seasons ago at Sir John Nelthorpe School Brigg.

Brigg football team Briggensians FC, based at Sir John Nelthorpe School, will begin the 2015/16 season on Saturday (September 12).
Some other clubs have already started their campaign.
Briggensians will again be playing in division three of the TSW Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League, which is the lowest section of the competition.

DIVISION THREE FIXTURES - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 (3pm KO)
A.F.C. Queensway         v  Barnetby United Reserves                           (Referee G Atebe)
College Wanderers (WRFC)  Reserves v Limestone Rangers Reserves (K Clark)
Midtown United           v Briggensians                                     (D Booth)
Santon v Scotter United Reserves                           (J McPolland)
The Butchers Arms         v Crowle Town Colts Reserves (C Brine).

With the kind assistance of league official Paul Birkitt, who supplies us with the results and fixtures each week by email, Brigg Blog will again keep you in touch with how Briggensians are doing as the season progresses, including the all-important league standings.
We also hope to get down to a few matches, camera in hand, to bring you some action pictures and even a team line-up.
Briggensians' home games we've been to in the past have always attracted local spectators to chat to on the sidelines at Sir John Nelthorpe School.
Hopefully we can enjoy a repeat of a few years ago when we went down in October during a mini-heatwave on one of the hottest UK Saturdays ever during the 10th month of the year.
