We thought they'd sorted the issue of lights staying on all day in Brigg Market Place but we clearly missed one, as this picture shows. The electricity bill could be reduced by a very small amount if the lamp didn't stay on while the sun is offering free illumination.
As they like to say at Tesco: Every little helps!

Why just one lamp from 3? Surely each lamp doesn't need a timer!
Talking about public saving......a friend of mine told me that he collected a car from a West York NHS fleet management team.
The car was on a 3 year lease and on expiry was being returned to the Leasing Group to go to auction.
The NHS fleet team insist that their returning cars have a quarter of a tank of fuel....the car in question had 170 miles range....and was going to an auction site 9 miles down the road......To me, that seems an avoidable waste of public money.....and I hope our local NHS vehicle fleet team do not have the same policy.......Indeed, the conditions for returning vehicles is that they should have sufficient fuel...say a gallon...to get to a filling station....
Perhaps, national politicians could investigate whether such generous fuel allowances on vehicles being returned at the end of their lease is a common occurrence within the NHS....
Council's pay their lighting electricity bill for the year, if a light is on 24/7 there is no extra cost, a number of council's are going down the LED lighting Avenue that's saves 80% on the cost of a normal sodium bulb, we have asked for this in the floodlights in the station area at Brigg.
