SUPPORT FOR NEW USE OF FORMER BRIGG CHILDREN’S HOME

Brigg Town Council has raised no objections to a planning application seeking permission to change the former local authority children’s home in Poplar Drive into a residential dwelling.
The home was closed some time ago by North Lincolnshire Council, having been declared surplus to requirements, and the property put up for sale.
Coun Donald Campbell, chairing a meeting of Brigg Town Council’s Planning and Environment Committee on Wednesday night in the Angel Suite, described 13 Poplar Drive as “a lovely big house” and said the proposal was a good one.
“It’s an empty building doing nothing,” he suggested.

North Lincolnshire Council will now decide whether to approve this change of use application.
