Brigg has seen a significant reduction in crime, newly announced police figures show.
The powers-that-be have just revealed the "crime stats" for March and there were 30 crimes in Brigg during the month, compared to 44 in February.
In March there were seven thefts reported, six incidents of anti-social behaviour, six of  criminal damage/arson, three cases of burglary and two shoplifting offences.
There were two vehicle crimes and two in the violence and sexual offences category.
Brigg saw one bicycle theft and one drugs crime during March.
There were no thefts from persons, public order offences or robberies.
Fourteen of the total crimes were in the town centre.
These stats have been made public through www.police.uk and cover a one-mile radius from the police station.
As Brigg Blog has said before, we are fortunate to live in an area with a low crime rate.  One reported incident per day over a month is one too many, but a significant statistic for our community. Police often come in for some stick from various quarters but our boys (and girls) in blue, under the command of rural inspector Brett Rutty, surely deserve a word of praise - even from a source as humble as Brigg Blog!
