NO INCREASE IN HOUSEHOLDS' COUNCIL TAX PAYMENT TO BRIGG TOWN COUNCIL FROM APRIL

Brigg Blog will start the week with some welcome news for council tax payers in the town.
Brigg Town Council has decided not to increase what all households have to pay for its services during the financial year running from April 2014 to March 2015.
The Town Council takes a very small percentage of the overall charge, the majority of which goes to fund North Lincolnshire Council and others.
North Lincolnshire Council sends out the demands and collects the payments, including the bit that goes to the Brigg authority.
Brigg Town Council's January meeting in the Angel Suite decided not to increase its spending during the next financial year and approved a budget to make that possible.
Our Town Council oversees the allotments, the running of the Angel Suite and gives grants to support events and groups who make applications for funds.
It also provides the town centre Christmas lights and pays for public conveniences to be opened at times when they would otherwise be closed.
There is also the Brigg in Bloom initiative which brightens the town with flowering plants during the warmer months.
The Budget 2014-15, adopted by town councillors meeting in the Angel Suite, outlined no increase for the forthcoming financial year.
North Lincolnshire Council will set its own budget in the near future and then send out demands for council tax bills to each household on behalf of the organisations which have a legal right to a share of the cash collected.
A written breakdown of how much households pay for each service, including the police, will be sent out in due course by North Lincolnshire Council with your bill
