ONE SMALL STEP...PROGRESS AT LAST ON IMPROVING BRIGG RAILWAY STATION AND OUR TRAIN SERVICE

In the years since Brigg Blog launched on the world wide web we've been campaigning for better use of the town's railway station, with the hope of trains calling here Monday to Friday, instead of the current very limited Saturday service.
Now - at long last - things seem to be moving.
A meeting will take place involving the Friends of the Brigg Line, Northern Rail (which runs the trains), Network Rail (operator of the line) and the business community of Brigg.
This will be held on Thursday 23rd January at 1pm at the station.
It will bring all parties together to work out how best to promote coming to Brigg by train - helping the local economy. Other issues will be regeneration of the station area and signage in the town pointing people to the station.
For you can find people in Brigg who do not realise we even have a functioning station from which you can catch trains to Sheffield, Gainsborough, Retford, Barnetby, Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
This is a small step - not a giant leap for mankind, but definitely a move in the right direction.
And having chosen the world-famous Moon landing quote, we ask Brigg Blog followers interested in this topic to watch this Space!
We will update you on developments during 2014.
