FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL
Go along to the Harvest Food Festival that is being held as part of the ever-popular Brigg Farmers’ Market on Saturday (26 October), from 9am to 3pm.
As well as the usual
great produce on offer at the Farmers’ Market there will be additional stalls
along Wrawby Street creating a fantastic street market in the centre of the
historic market town.
There will be a display of harvest produce highlighting the large amount of local foods on offer.
Local chef, Nigel Brown, will be presenting two cookery demonstrations in the bandstand showing shoppers how to make best use of the produce available. He will also provide great cookery hints and tips.
Shoppers will be entertained throughout the day by accordionist, Hugh Barwell.
Brigg Farmers’ Market is widely considered to be one of the best in the country and in 2009 was voted the Best Rural Farmers’ Market.
The market started in June 2000 with just 14 stalls, now with over 30 stalls each month the market has grown not only in size but also in popularity.
Council Carl Sherwood (Brigg and Wolds) said: “Brigg Farmers’ Market is always very popular, so with the addition of the Harvest Food Festival there is going to wonderful local food in abundance. People will be spoilt for choice. I’m sure Nigel Brown will be cooking up a treat as usual and you will be able to get some great recipe ideas from him. Pop along to the festival this weekend and see what delicious food is on offer.”
