FITNESS OPEN EVENING AT ANCHOLME LEISURE CENTRE NEAR BRIGG

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL - OPERATORS OF THE FACILITY AT SCAWBY BROOK
Try out the group fitness classes and the new exercise bikes at Ancholme Leisure Centre’s fitness open evening on Tuesday 10 September.
The leisure centre just outside Brigg is giving people chance to have a go at the wide range of group classes for free.
All taster sessions are 30 minutes long and you can try as many sessions as you want.
You can take part in:
  • Zumba at 6pm
  • High energy aerobics at 6.30pm
  • Legs, Bums and Tums at 7pm
  • High intensity interval training – core at 7.30pm
  • Boxercise at 8pm
  • Bootcamp at 8.30pm
There are also group cycling taster sessions at 6.15pm and 7.15pm for current members to try out the new bikes before the new programme starts. Places are limited, so make sure you book your place.
You don’t need to book a place for the other taster sessions, however please ensure you turn up in plenty of time to get changed and ready for the start of the classes. To take part you must be 16-years-old and above.
Staff at the leisure centre will be on hand to give advice on improving your health and fitness. Refreshments will be provided throughout the evening and all participants will receive a goody bag.
The leisure centre has upgraded its exercise bikes to Keiser M3 Bikes and will be introducing even more group cycling classes to the fitness programme.
The cycling classes will led by an instructor and the latest music will be played to motivate you to push your fitness whilst burning calories.
Keiser bikes feel like a real bike, have gears and a mini computer screen that tells you key information about how hard you are working.
The Pods have already got Keiser bikes that are very popular with the group cycling classes that are usually fully booked.
Ancholme Leisure Centre is launching its new fitness programme on 16 September 2013, with a range of group classes, including additional cycling classes.
For more information about the open evening or the group fitness classes call 01652 652031. You can also visit the council’s website www.northlincs.gov.uk/leisure/leisure-centres/ancholmelc/groupfitnessclasses.
Coun Carl Sherwood, Cabinet Member for Customer Services, Sport and Leisure, said: “Ancholme Leisure has recently been refurbished with new fitness equipment to bring it more up-to-date. The open evening is the perfect way to see what the leisure centre has to offer and get involved in the great group classes. If you are thinking of joining a group fitness class, then come along to the open evening and find out which class would suit you the best.
“The Keiser M3 Bikes will be arriving this week and I’m sure the cycling classes will be very popular. There is nearly 100 per cent attendance at the cycling classes at The Pods each week and we have had excellent feedback from the instructors.”
