BRIGG POINTS THE WAY FORWARD FOR 21st CENTURY LIBRARIES

Brigg is surely showing the way forward for libraries. There's much debate going on just across the county border in Lincolnshire County Council's area about possible library cutbacks, with an extensive public consultation under way. Libraries cannot stay rooted in the past and the re-location of Brigg's from a single-purpose building in Old Courts Road to the Angel complex is surely the way forward. In Brigg, library-users can, if they wish, take advantage of the neighbouring Courtyard Cafe during a trip to change their books, visit the Local Link office to sort out a bit of household finance or nip up to the Heritage Centre for a look round. Sad as it may seem to many people, libraries must change with the times.
