HOPEFULLY NOT A BRIGG PIPE DREAM

Some months have elapsed since hopes were raised that the water pipe alongside the County Bridge in Brigg town centre was going to be removed.
We are posting this picture to see whether anyone can update us about why nothing has happened.
A stretch of riverside wall has been replaced recently by the Environment Agency, and a very good job they made of it. But what about this old pipe on the side of our grade two listed landmark?
Regular Brigg Blog followers will remember posts about the pipe when it sprung a leak that took a lot longer to fix than many of us expected. It provided Brigg with a "talking point" fountain, but only for a short time.

I've re-posted some info re pipe on Brigg People, Nige, old bean.
It's a bit dated - last updated Jan - but it does seem that the original idea of sinking it beneath the road surface is hindered with the discovery that BT and fibre optic cables are already in the proposed re-routing trench....leaving little, or no room for a mains water pipe.

Plan B in Jan (allegedly) was to explore a possible route alongside, or in the existing trench-work.
