ELIZABETH COURT, BRIGG, AND THE DIAMOND JUBILEE

Further to your correspondent re. Elizabeth Court on the Brigg Blog,
Negotiating the actual route took a great deal of time and had to be agreed with the Police, The Humberside Fire & Rescue and the North lincs Events Committee.
The route is fixed - starting at 1 p.m. on Monday June 4th - from Forrester Street, thru' Bridge Street, The Market Place, Cary Lane, Ash Grove, Redcombe Lane, Grammar School Road, Preston drive, Woodbine Park and into the Recreation Ground.
We have to be mindful that there will be small children in the parade and the route has to be as short as reasonably possible; to go out to Elizabeth Court would add a considerable distance to the route and there is no easy way into the Rec Ground from the Springbank area.
I would hope the residents of the whole area do organise something in Elizabeth Court. Western Avenue is an ideal place to hold a Street Party.
It is very late now to get an official street closure but it is so out-of-the-way that one could get everyone to agree to go another way round for a time.
This could be either on the evening of June 4th or any time on the official Jubilee Bank Holiday, Tuesday June 5th.
