BRIGG "NEEDS MORE TRAINS, NOT MORE SIGNS"

Plans to draw public attention to Brigg railway station caused some amusement among councillors meeting this week in the Angel Suite.
The Town Council heard from station adopter Jim Allcroft that a rail company is considering providing extra street signs in Brigg streets to direct would-be travellers to the railway station.
Brigg station has the worst passenger service in Britain – just three journeys each way on Saturdays and none at all from Sunday to Friday.
Taking that into consideration, Coun Jenny Bell said: “It would be nice if there were some more trains there!”
Coun Penny Smith said she was loath to see people pointed towards Brigg station because it was badly lit.
Coun Mel Oades suggested telling the rail company that additional signs would be a waste of money.
