BRIGG’S FAME SPREADS FAR AND WIDE

During a weekend trip a couple of weeks ago to visit family members, they took us round London’s large and highly impressive Borough Market.
Many traders were offering free samples to temp thousands of Saturday customers, and one stall-holder (above) called out: “Come and try our Lincolnshire plum bread.”
We complied with his request, but he looked a little surprised when I inquired: ”Don’t you know Brigg?”
He ought to - his good lady was on Moden’s stall at Brigg Farmers’ Market that very same day!
Clearly this is one Lincolnshire firm that travels far and wide to market its wonderful produce.
Very tasty – try some when you next visit our farmers’ market.

..So you went to the Big Smoke...not too far from the Elephant & Castle, eh, Scribs?
Next time, take a return river trip from the embankment to Greenwich - you get a massive discount if you show them your bus pass, Nige!
