BRIGG GETS NEW TOWN MAYOR

Coun Carl Sherwood, the new Deputy Town Mayor of Brigg (centre) with the Mayor and Mayoress, Coun John and Kathryn Kitwood, having all just donned their chains of office in the Angel Suite.

Brigg’s new Town Mayor was installed last night at the annual meeting of the Town Council.
Coun John Kitwood was elected for 2011/12 to succeed Coun Ben Nobbs, whose very successful year as the town’s first citizen drew to a close.
Army veteran Coun Kitwood, who lives in Scawby, is a senior councillor and very experienced committee chairman within the Town Council.
Coun Carl Sherwood, of Manley Gardens, has become Deputy Town Mayor for the next 12 months and Town Mayor-Elect for 2012/13.
The annual mayor-making ceremony was held last night in the Angel Suite, Brigg.
