MAY START FOR BRIGG TOWN CRICKETERS

Having resigned from the Lincolnshire League at the end of the 2010 season, Brigg Town Cricket Club have only one Saturday team this season and will be playing in the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance division three, against teams from Hull and district. This was the competition in which Brigg's second team used to play.
Town's season opens on Saturday, May 7 with a visit to Sutton-on-Hull 3rds.
Sutton then visit Brigg on May 14 for the opening game of the season at the Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road (1.30pm start).

Having played for and against Brigg Town, it is sad to see the club going through a lean season. Is it a reflection of changing times and attitudes?
I wish Gary and all those associated with Brigg all the very best for the forthcoming season. I just hope that the name of Brigg Town Cricket Club survives for many years to come.
