HAVE WE TASTED WINTER'S LAST?

These signs photographed in a shop window in Wrawby Street, Brigg, advertising tasty “winter warmers” are a reminder that we shouldn’t get carried away by the recent hot, spring-like weather.
Let’s not forget that April, and even the first few weeks of May, can throw up cold spells and even snow.
We should be especially wary of the weather as the cricket season is about to get underway in the Brigg area. That’s a sure sign that temperatures will dip.
During 30 years with Brigg Town CC I played in many April and May matches in which hot soup, tea and coffee would have been very welcome indeed, instead of the traditional cup of cold orange squash.
