COULD THIS BE THE ANSWER?

With Brigg Wheelers struggling to find the insurance money and the organisational help necessary to keep the Skatepark near Ancholme Leisure Centre open for another year, Coun Ann Eardley (pictured) has suggested contacting the Humberside Playing Fields Association with a request for help.
Her idea followed an update on the issue at Brigg Town Council’s monthly meeting.
Town Mayor Coun Ben Nobbs, who takes a keen interest in the facility, acknowledged Brigg Wheelers were running out of options and needed to find additional funding by early June.
He explained North Lincolnshire Council had “absolutely refused” to take on paying the insurance premium.

Although North Lincolnshire Council will not be giving further funding, a spokesman pointed out to Brigg Blog that the authority had given extensive support in many ways to the Skatepark and the Wheelers in recent years.
He added: “Any group interested in taking responsibility for the skatepark will be supported by the council and given training to equip them with the necessary skills to manage the amenity.”
