It appears that at least one of the coach companies used by the Barnsley supporters has previously run trips to the races at Market Rasen and used Brigg as a stop off point. On Saturday the coaches stopped at Brigg to allow supporters a refreshment/comfort break. Police officers attended at Brigg to assess the situation and then provide an escort to Hull City's ground (as is usual with visiting supporters using the motorway - to ensure unscheduled stops are not made at locations that may lead to confrontational situations).
There were no reports of any trouble in Brigg whatsoever - as you say, the visiting fans were in good spirits and well behaved - not even rowdy.
As far as I am aware, the fans returned to the Barnsley area directly after the match and did not return to Brigg.
PS Brigg Blog was also a coach trip, Sunday and Monday. Back home now after our short break - normal service resumed.

Re Tesco application: apart from the possible displacement of over-night HGV's from Lidl's carpark, there is frequent talk about pushing Brigg as a tourist attraction. But there is properly designated site for coaches to park. Indeed, with the footie coaches, the pixs show that they are acually 'illegally' parked across Cary Lane's bus stop.
If and when Tesco gets the go-ahead, the anticipated volume of traffic in and out of Cary Lane will increase significantly and, I suggest, that whoever holds the reins will not want coaches causing an obstruction in a very busy thoroughfare.
Ken: Hmm, tourism in Brigg? I could agree with you to a small extent, but only so far as day trips or leisure. I doubt there'll be any coaches turning up soon, but a few more cars, maybe.
Sova....true...but where do coach-loads of wedding guests, hen-party and stag night revellers park their steeds? It does happen.
During the summer, I spied 2 coach-loads who dined at Harry Kars...and the Barnsley footie fans are not the first supporters to visit Brigg - en masse.
Similarly, holiday firms often pick-up/drop-off passengers in Brigg.
There maybe few coaches coming to Brigg - but the only place for them to park is in Cary Lane...where else?
Having a designated coach-parking facility invites folks to come to Brigg - not having such a facility discourages such coach-groups.
